    Hugs and kisses my loves

I've got a ton of new links to share with you all my beloveds. Actually I have such a large amount of things to share that the concept of it all is beyond overwhelming.

First though I shall share some of the fabulousness that is the gallery. Art Whino had an awesome show on the 13th of December, if you are local to the DC metropolitan area you should check it out, as I always say, we are located in National Harbor. So, anyway, get a gander at some of the photos I took of the event.

This is Jason Snyder and his fabulously lovely and humorous wife. And three of the skateboards he painted, I love how they are all half faces, I was thinking about purchasing the devil, but I have a backlog of art I need to pay for already, so I'm not going to make any investments until I get my funds in order :( You can sort of see the beginning of this show, and no don't ask me why I took this shot in front of our industrial door fronted bathroom. (At least they are blocking the water fountain!)

DJ Mikel Panda was spinning alongside one of Brandon Hill's (ps that link isn't his site but they have some cool shots of pieces from his last show here)pieces (I love Brandon, I do not doubt you will see him in this blog often, his pieces are just awesome) And yes, I abuse parentheses.

Some of Jason's pieces. He framed them himself (I <3 framers), and he restored the black antique frame around the paranoia piece. You can check out some better shots of them at Art Whino's website.

The day of the show James Walker also dropped off some photography. I friggen love James Walker, don't even get me started, people come in the gallery asking about his work and I go on and on about it and he's such a nice guy and I wish I was a decent photographer/painter/anything (practice practice practice!). If I could buy everything he made, I absolutely would, no doubt about it.

His photos are on the small wall to the left of the photo. He has a ton more, and this photo does not do his work justice, as per usual.
Here is Kelsey pouting in front of one of his paintings. I think everyone is sick of the fact that I love taking photos of the people who work at the gallery as much as the visitors.

Thats it on the gallery for now! Come out and see the delightfulness that is Art Whino!

    Again. So long

The holidays are very difficult for me. Difficult in the fact that I am constantly running around like a chicken with my head cut off attempting to get projects, work, and everything else including a constantly evolving social life in order. Sometimes the simple idea of all of these events and projects that are on my shoulders waiting to occur, needing to occur, are great enough to prevent me from getting ANYTHING done. (I know, I need to get over that intense procrastination issue), but I am working on it. I am just back to let you all know that I am here and I have a BUNDLE of snazzy new things to share, not just in home decor. My gallery had a fabulous show (so fabulous that I will be sharing the photos later today I hope) with Jason Snyder's work (if you recall I work at Art Whino, the premiere Washington DC gallery for lowbrow art). In the meantime I'm simply going to share this fab photo that my friend LadyGlock took of me thoroughly sloshed at Blisspop's christmas dance party.

    Lipstick Jungle

So I'm finally giving up and watching Lipstick Jungle. Its on Hulu. I'm bored. I love successful women shows. I -loved- Cashmere Mafia. Which is primarily why I didn't want to watch Lipstick Jungle. I'm just finishing the first episode and here is my major qualm. While it is evident that Cashmere Mafia invested heavily in their sets, making them reflect the fiscal success as well as individual taste of the individuals they represented, Lipstick Jungle appears to have run out to Ikea, grabbed what they could, and threw it on top of generally bland sets. I understand that this is a pilot, but if the sets don't start looking better, I will be forced to abandon the show. I cannot abide by poor taste.

I also miss Lucy Lui hardcore and have been watching her on Dirty Sexy Money. I -love- that show.

and yes, I did just c&p that from facebook. So, the show should obviously be awesome. I know that you can tell this just by looking at it. I know you can. I have faith in you.

Later today we'll have a roundup of my favorite prints (including an awesome Audrey Kawasaki that goes on sale this weekend I think), a few looks that i like or have questions about, and photography finds.

Speaking of photography, why is it so hard to get B&W 120mm processed. I just want to know whats on my damn lomos!! I spoke with Shane (owner of ArtWhino, aka Bossman) and he suggested Chrome Imaging, (whom I love dearly), but I don't feel like driving into DC for 12 images. Motophoto will process 120mm color, and I suspect DigipixArt will as well (btw they are really quite awesome people to work with, their processing services are fabulous, I send my dad there all the time (yeah I need to work on his website so badly). Anyway, speak to you soon!

    Michelle Obama

So First Ladies have always been well dressed, immacuhttp://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2008/11/04/us/05elect-600.jpglate even, their stylings chosen by the creme de la creme in demur taste. Last night Michelle Obama wore a stunning dress by Narcisco Rodriguez, one I absolutely loved. Someone I was sitting with had the audacity to say that it made her look like she had a bun in the oven, but, they obviously have no taste. I'm so excited about this presidency, and what it means, that I can only contain myself by distracting my mind with what the potential influence upon fashion Michelle Obama will likely have. A powerful black woman has of late been typified simply by Oprah, but now...we have a similiar but different taste. I eagerly await the summer day when we see Michelle Obama sweep by in a wrap dress by the ever-awesome Diane Von Furstenberg.

    I could cry

I'm so happy...so proud to be an American. So proud.

    Finally

I haven't been cataloging my current issues with Domino Magazine, but let it be known that my october issue has arrived. My september issue though...who knows. I love Domino as much as the next person, and its so hard to resist going out to the store and just picking up a copy when it takes them so insufferably long to consistantly send me a copy, but, let it be known, I am happy. domino magazine cover

One I actually go through the 'zine I'll probably scan a few of my favorites, but in the meantime, I had a wonderful weekend, framed up some new art and hung it on the walls (actually its old art, but I painted some reclaimed frames that fit and now am working on organizing my art wall how I like it). Loves...I'll be back again when life is less a whirlwind.
