Mortal Plush @ Art Whino
Possibly Back
You never know with me...but anyway, so I saw this stunning Tessar Lo gocco wood print while I was going through my archives of old feeds...totally missed it. Anyway its absolutely stunning. Yeah I said it already, but it doesn't make it any less true. Buy it. Its worth it. Only 9 made.

Horray
Hooray for the Sabotaz blog. And for just getting back from NYCC, and for all of the content that I've been meaning to put up but haven't gotten a chance to, and for my growing interest in designer vinyl toys, and for the fact that my feed reader says All items (1000+) and I've been reading all day and still haven't gotten it below that. Hooray.

Tipped off
So I just got tipped off to the Umbra Loft collection at target from happy mundane. Needless so say if you know anything about me you know I'm a sucker for flourishes, no matter how contrived. So, obviously there is alot with regards to the umbra collection that I'm interested in. I'll share a few of the goodies and how I plan to utilize them in my ever evolving struggle to get organized.
This is the Umbra Loft Jewelry Harp in Black, $14.99. Really I don't think I need this but I like it. I have a jewelry tree and a jewelry box. Both overflowing with crap and barely used (I'll share photos one day) When I grabbed this link I was thinking, hey I could put this in my bathroom as a place to store jewelry when I take it off there, but really why encourage my habit of putting jewelry in every which place, I need to get myself into the habit of keeping it in the places I've designated. Jewelry box and jewelry tree. Do it Lee. Do it.
Umbra Loft Charging Valet Studio - Black $19.99. On the one hand, I need this. It serves a practical purpose, one I'm constantly attempting to overcome while simultaneously not ruining my personal aesthetic. On the other hand I think if I just organized my wires beneath my desk, I wouldn't have as many dramatic charging issues as I currently do. On the hello what are you thinking Lee, end, its not as if I even have surface space for this!! Every inch of flat surface in my room is utilized, and one could argue, when I move I'll have more free space, but until then, exactly where do I expect this to go. No no, one day it will be useful is a mantra I need to avoid!
Umbra Loft Photo Tray - $19.99. Ok...this I believe I could actually use. I need a tray in both my bathroom and my room. A sort of catchall station. I've had my eyes peeled for something of the bone china variety, but I haven't found anything. Considering the eventual evolution of my bathroom, this could easily fit in there, with maybe some vintage print tucked in if I wanted to be particular. I was also looking at Pier1's floral embossed tray, but I haven't seen it in person yet to decide whether its gaudy or just right.
Chances are it will be gaudy.

I've got a ton of new links to share with you all my beloveds. Actually I have such a large amount of things to share that the concept of it all is beyond overwhelming.
First though I shall share some of the fabulousness that is the gallery. Art Whino had an awesome show on the 13th of December, if you are local to the DC metropolitan area you should check it out, as I always say, we are located in National Harbor. So, anyway, get a gander at some of the photos I took of the event.
This is Jason Snyder and his fabulously lovely and humorous wife. And three of the skateboards he painted, I love how they are all half faces, I was thinking about purchasing the devil, but I have a backlog of art I need to pay for already, so I'm not going to make any investments until I get my funds in order :( You can sort of see the beginning of this show, and no don't ask me why I took this shot in front of our industrial door fronted bathroom. (At least they are blocking the water fountain!)
DJ Mikel Panda was spinning alongside one of Brandon Hill's (ps that link isn't his site but they have some cool shots of pieces from his last show here)pieces (I love Brandon, I do not doubt you will see him in this blog often, his pieces are just awesome) And yes, I abuse parentheses.
Some of Jason's pieces. He framed them himself (I <3 framers), and he restored the black antique frame around the paranoia piece. You can check out some better shots of them at Art Whino's website.
The day of the show James Walker also dropped off some photography. I friggen love James Walker, don't even get me started, people come in the gallery asking about his work and I go on and on about it and he's such a nice guy and I wish I was a decent photographer/painter/anything (practice practice practice!). If I could buy everything he made, I absolutely would, no doubt about it.
His photos are on the small wall to the left of the photo. He has a ton more, and this photo does not do his work justice, as per usual.
Here is Kelsey pouting in front of one of his paintings. I think everyone is sick of the fact that I love taking photos of the people who work at the gallery as much as the visitors.

Again. So long
The holidays are very difficult for me. Difficult in the fact that I am constantly running around like a chicken with my head cut off attempting to get projects, work, and everything else including a constantly evolving social life in order. Sometimes the simple idea of all of these events and projects that are on my shoulders waiting to occur, needing to occur, are great enough to prevent me from getting ANYTHING done. (I know, I need to get over that intense procrastination issue), but I am working on it. I am just back to let you all know that I am here and I have a BUNDLE of snazzy new things to share, not just in home decor. My gallery had a fabulous show (so fabulous that I will be sharing the photos later today I hope) with Jason Snyder's work (if you recall I work at Art Whino, the premiere Washington DC gallery for lowbrow art). In the meantime I'm simply going to share this fab photo that my friend LadyGlock took of me thoroughly sloshed at Blisspop's christmas dance party.

Lipstick Jungle
So I'm finally giving up and watching Lipstick Jungle. Its on Hulu. I'm bored. I love successful women shows. I -loved- Cashmere Mafia. Which is primarily why I didn't want to watch Lipstick Jungle. I'm just finishing the first episode and here is my major qualm. While it is evident that Cashmere Mafia invested heavily in their sets, making them reflect the fiscal success as well as individual taste of the individuals they represented, Lipstick Jungle appears to have run out to Ikea, grabbed what they could, and threw it on top of generally bland sets. I understand that this is a pilot, but if the sets don't start looking better, I will be forced to abandon the show. I cannot abide by poor taste.
I also miss Lucy Lui hardcore and have been watching her on Dirty Sexy Money. I -love- that show.
